Timeshifter partners with Amadeus to provide the travel industry with solution to jet lag

New York (November 26, 2018) — Timeshifter® - The Jet Lag App® - today announces a partnership with Amadeus, the world’s leading travel technology provider. Amadeus is working with Timeshifter as part of the Amadeus Next program. Amadeus Next helps to build and foster the leading travel tech startup community. The team looks to partner with startups to collaboratively solve specific problems for travelers and to improve the overall travel experience. Timeshifter and Amadeus aim to make jet lag history.

Since Timeshifter launched earlier this year, the app has quickly become a must-have tool for global travelers. As part of this partnership, Amadeus will support Timeshifter through its technology and expertise to further improve the app functionality and experience. In addition, Timeshifter will be introduced to Amadeus customers, including airlines, hotels, and travel agencies around the world.

Timeshifter is based on the latest research in sleep and circadian neuroscience. The algorithm behind the app was developed with world-renowned circadian expert, Dr. Steven Lockley from Harvard Medical School. Timeshifter generates highly personalized jet lag plans based on the traveler’s sleep pattern, chronotype, flight plan, and optional preferences such as pre-travel adjustment or the use of melatonin.

Timeshifter has been bolstering its strategic partners, advisory board, as well as its investors, which now includes Michael López-Alegría, former NASA Astronaut, Smith L. Johnston, III, M.D., M.S., Medical Officer and Leader of Fatigue, Performance, and Longevity Programs at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, and Vagn Ove Sørensen, Chairman of Air Canada.

In addition, Under Armour is recommending Timeshifter to elite athletes to accelerate recovery and reduce the effects of jet lag to give them a new competitive edge, Six Senses is offering the app to its resort and hotel guests to ensure they maximize their vacation time, and Montblanc has pre-installed Timeshifter on its new Montblanc Summit 2 smartwatch, making eliminating jet lag one step closer to being second nature.

“Amadeus is one of the largest global processors of travel bookings and a company the travel industry looks to for direction, so of course we are thrilled and honored to partner with them to solve jet lag, something that affects millions of travelers every year,” said Timeshifter Co-founder & CEO, Mickey Beyer-Clausen. “Timeshifter offers a science-based, easy-to-follow solution that can live on any traveler’s phone, requires no special equipment, and comes with huge benefits at almost no cost.”

“There are many misconceptions around how to eliminate jet lag, but Timeshifter’s approach is based on the latest research in sleep and circadian neuroscience, for which we see huge potential,” said Matt James, who leads the Amadeus Next community. “The Timeshifter app helps people get the most out of their trip by greatly reducing or eliminating the most common barrier to optimal performance, enjoyment, and health, and we look forward to help make Timeshifter a natural part of bookings when people travel for business, go on vacation, or compete in a sports event abroad.”
