Timeshifter extends worldwide partnership with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts

Every guest of InterContinental hotels and resorts can now seamlessly traverse time zones using Timeshifter’s pioneering jet lag-combatting technology.

AUGUST 26, 2026, NEW YORK: Timeshifter is extending its global partnership with InterContinental, giving guests across the brand's 242 hotels and resorts in almost 70 countries complimentary access to personalized jet lag mitigation plans. Now, each and every guest staying at an InterContinental hotel or resort will have access to a personalized plan to overcome travel fatigue whether staying for the very first time or returning to a beloved hotel or resort. The collaboration reinforces InterContinental’s commitment to restorative travel by placing the latest circadian technology into the palms of its guests to enable them to arrive at their best, ready to explore the world.

Trusted by athletes, astronauts, and global travellers alike, Timeshifter is a leading tool for managing the effects of long-distance travel. For InterContinental, it forms part of the brand’s evolving guest experience and its Intentional Flexibility initiatives: a series of thoughtful solutions that help modern luxury travellers move seamlessly across time zones and shape-shift throughout their day.

Tom Rowntree, Vice President of Luxury & Lifestyle Brands, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: "Our partnership with Timeshifter is about putting the right technology in the hands of our guests so they can seamlessly shift through their day-to-day. By harnessing the power of cutting-edge solutions like Timeshifter, we’re not only addressing the common challenges faced by travellers but also redefining the entire guest experience. The technology embodies InterContinental’s relentless commitment to delivering intuitive service by adjusting to the evolving needs of luxury travellers."

The Timeshifter app draws on the latest circadian science to compose personalized plans that address the underlying cause and symptoms of jet lag. Recommendations are tailored to each guest’s itinerary, chronotype, normal sleep pattern and personal preferences, offering guidance on sleep, light exposure and avoidance, and caffeine timing, applying the same algorithm used by astronauts, Olympic athletes, F1 teams, NBA players, and national soccer teams in high-performance settings.

Mickey Beyer-Clausen, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Timeshifter, said: "We have known for decades that circadian clocks govern nearly every function in the human body, from sleep and alertness to metabolism and immune function. When we travel across multiple time zones, our circadian clocks can’t keep up. That’s why when people cross time zones, they spend the first days of their trips fighting jet lag. Science shows that the only way to adapt quickly to new time zones is by resetting the central circadian clock in our brain – and that’s exactly what the Timeshifter app helps travelers do in a simple, practical way. Now, through our collaboration with InterContinental we can allow guests to optimise every moment of their time exploring the world."

At InterContinental, Timeshifter is complemented by a wider suite of restorative travel initiatives, including nutritionally rich dishes designed to help counter the body’s natural response to travel. Together, these elements support a more holistic approach to travel fatigue, helping guests feel replenished, restored, and reenergised throughout and beyond their stay.

A range of scientifically backed nutritionally rich Nourish Bowls and Anytime Plates, designed to combat energy slumps and boost vitality, are available across Flexible Dining menus at properties around the world. These dishes are thoughtfully designed to feature ingredients selected to support energy and vitality while countering the body’s natural fatigue response, whilst also giving a flavour of local culture. Examples include egg forward options, rich in vitamin B12, which can help suppress the sleep-inducing hormone melatonin, as well as ingredients chosen for their hydration benefits, with dehydration one of the key impacts of travel. Also prominent are magnesium-rich green leafy vegetables, which help balance mineral fluctuations caused by travel.

All InterContinental guests receive complimentary access to a Timeshifter jet lag plan for every booking, covering both their inbound and outbound journeys. This is accessible via a QR code promoted at various points in the guest journey, both before and during their stay.

Celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026, InterContinental is the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand, founded by Pan American Airways Founder, Juan Trippe in 1946. InterContinental is reimagining the luxury travel experience with the modern luxury traveller at its heart, focusing on satisfying guests’ yearning for knowledge and culturally rich experiences.
