Your jet lag plan might seem complicated at first, but it’s actually easy to follow and very empowering. Below are a few tips that will help you timeshift for the first time.

Adapt quickly with no symptoms.

In your jet lag plan you'll find advice to help you reset your circadian clock quickly, as well as advice to alleviate any possible jet lag symptoms, including light exposure/avoidance, optional melatonin/caffeine use, and naps.

The key to quick adaptation is light.

 
 

The most impactful advice in each plan is light exposure/avoidance. The time at which you see and avoid light determines whether your circadian clock shifts earlier or later, and is critical to timeshifting your clock quickly. The right light exposure at the right time can significantly accelerate your adaptation to a new time zone. Seeing light at the wrong time will make your jet lag worse.

You can avoid light everywhere.

 
 

If Timeshifter tells you to avoid light, and you can’t avoid it because you’re out in the sun or in a brightly lit room, just put on your favorite sunglasses.

You can get exposed to light anywhere.

 
 

If Timeshifter tells you to see light when you’re in a dark room/airplane, just turn on any available lights and/or increase the brightness of your computer/tablet.
